1 lb. bag of pinto or cranberry beans
4-5 slices of uncooked bacon
Salt & Pepper to taste
Sort beans by removing any stones or broken pieces. Beans need to soak in water before cooking. This can be done in two ways: either soak overnight in large bowl or bring enough water to cover beans to a boil and pour over beans and allow to sit for a couple of hours. Once beans have soaked, drain water and place beans into crockpot with water approximately two inches above beans. Add bacon slices and salt and pepper to taste. Cook on low for 8 hours
